How much longer until Thanksgiving Break!?

I'm not sure if I can make it! My kids are crazy, my life is crazy. I've been so busy that I messed two things up today! First, I dropped the ball big time on planning an event for a visiting author who was speaking to classes. And those that I'd volunteered to help were none too happy with me.....at all. I felt pretty small after I heard about it from them. Then, some middle school students were visiting for a tour of the high school and I was to get some students together to be tour guides. I got the students, then forgot to tell them about it and THEN completely forgot to send them to the assembly! The administration had to call me and get me to get the kids out of class and send them down! How embarrassing!

Do you ever feel like you are stretched WAY TOO THIN? On top of the two things I messed up, I do Freshman House, teach in two programs that I spend a lot of time working with, have been coordinating a field trip for my freshmen, have spent the last two mornings at the store during my planning period picking up cupcakes to pass out to students who made the A/B honor roll last nine weeks...the distribution took up my lunch time. Whew. It's been a whirlwind week. On top of my normal graduate class that I take. AND my interview! I had an interview Wednesday for the PhD program! I hope I get in. Its in the same area as my M.Ed. that I am finishing in December. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I should find out soon!

So, to relax, I'm headed back to Edisto. And this time it really will be a relaxing trip. My dad is on his way to pick me up, and my mom is already on her way down. The entire clan is going, and I'm looking forward to good food, good family time, and some fun!
