We spent the weekend, once again, in Edisto. I am convinced that I am going to have to stop blogging about Edisto, because on the rare occasions that my father decides to log on and see what I'm up to, I am certain he will flip when he sees what we are really up to on his backporch!
In typical Edisto fashion, we kicked off the weekend with a Dance Party USA. As always, this is a testament to why we all have normal 9 to 5 jobs and are not currently pursuing something bigger in LA or NYC. We poorly reenacted Thriller.
Note to self, Emily. Any time someone suggests recreating the dance from a famous video and others willingly agree to give it a shot, chances are they've studied up on Darrin's Dance Grooves and have a pretty good idea what all the dance entails. Sit back down. You've never seen Darrin or his Dance Grooves. You can't dance!
Thriller took up a long time, and a lot of memory on my card in my camera. But I don't want you all to think others sat around and watched what we were up to. Oh no. Caison didn't let a little stress fracture get in her way of shaking that thang!
Friday was also Michelle's 29th birthday! We tried to convince her to try an upside margarita (I have no idea why anyone thought that was a good idea...oh wait! Yes I do! It was Weisman and several people tried it! Maybe it wasn't so bad afterall......) and in true Michlle form, she refused. Michelle didn't even drink her own drinks on her 21st! Why start on her 29th!? So, being the sweet husband he is, Jason took hers.True or False....Jason really enjoyed taking the upside down drink.
In the past, we've spent Saturday on Otter Island. But this weekend, we hung out on the porch. Megan and Andrew were able to come down and join us for the day and night despite being in the middle of moving back to Columbia. We threw in the crab pots, but only caught one measly little crab. My dad and I talked to the guy at Flowers Seafood on 174 and apparently there is a drop in the number of blue crabs this year. Don't worry, we let our little guy go. But here he is!
It was a fun, fun weekend! After everyone left my parents came and I was able to stay in Edisto until today, Tuesday. I've got several things to post from my extended stay including The Battle of The Marsh which was a match up between a racoon and one of our dogs and the Second Wave of the British Invasion, but those may have to wait until tomorrow! Thanks to every one of my friends for making the weekend so much fun!
PS-WIS TV is running a segment on the 11:00 news about Firefly Vodka. They just called it sweet tea that packs a punch. I've been trying to tell y'all that!! Apparently Alle's consumption from the 4th only created a temporary set back. Sweet Tea was in full force this weekend!
Here are some other pictures from the weekend....

How much fun! Karoke is huge here too! The locals even bring it out at family functions like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Of course, I don't participate but it is entertainig to watch.
Looks like you had a great time as usual. Maybe one day we can make it back down there. We miss y'all!
