What I do best....

And that's read books. So I'd like to take this opportunity to do a little book review.
I know that too many of us out there don't read as often as we wish we did. It's hard to find the time to read when you are as busy as many of us are. But trust me, if you keep a book by your bed (I have a stack next to mine) then I promise you can find ten minutes to read before you fall asleep. Even if you only get a few pages or a chapter in, you are still making time to read.

But, for the first book review on my blog, I want to tell you about The Giver. It is by Lois Lowry and is a beautiful book. The main character is an 11 year old boy named Jonas. In his society, each child is assigned a job when they turn 12. The society is a utopian society in which everyone is equal. It is similar to Ayn Rand's Anthem. The book follows Jonas through his journey of training for his new job.

I am not going to tell you more about it. But, I want you to know that if I am taking the time to write about this, then it is well worth your time to read it. It is an incredible book. I've lent my copy to my friend Lindsey and she's already read it. It took her an afternoon.

After you've read it, come back and let me know about it! I can't wait to hear from you.

Hopefully I'll be able to read regularly enough to post often. Currently I'm doing some light reading.....Jimmy Buffet's A Salty Piece of Land. Only 1 chapter in. I'll keep you posted.

Now go read a book!
