Yay! My 100th post! It's taken me a while to get around to blogging this week because I wanted to be able to take some time to post for this one. I knew I'd need some time to sit down and come up with 100 things about myself.
So, just for fun, here are some things about me:
1. My favorite place to go is the CVS. I am not really sure why, but every time I go in there, I have to force myself to leave.
2. I never wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to be a successful pharmaceutical rep.
3. During grad school (the first time around!) I worked at a tiny trucking company dispatching 18-wheelers. It was a lot of fun!
4. I love to go to school. The masters degree that I just finished is my second one. My first is an MAT in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English. This one is in Language and Literacy. My PhD will also be in L&L. I am already worrying about what degree I will get after my PhD.
5. Speaking of school, I would work almost 365 days a year if there were no kids at school!
6. I am irrationally and paralyzingly afraid of spiders. Even little tiny ones, but that's gotten better over the years.
7. This probably stems from the time I was in 7th grade and my science teacher found this out and made me stand in front of the class with the pet tarantula in my hand as tears streamed down my face.
8. I will hopefully be moving to Charleston to join the rest of my family and some friends as soon as I can.
9. My family and I are extremely close. I talk to some member of my family at least once a day and sometimes more.
10. I never lived alone until my youngest sister moved out in April. I like living alone a lot.
11. That being said, sometimes being one does get pretty lonely.
12. I have never been out of the state of South Carolina for longer than one week until this past march when I was out for 8 days.
13. I believe that I could eat sushi for every single meal for the rest of my life.
14. My all time favorite dessert is Breyers Natural Vanilla ice cream with Hershey's chocolate syrup on top.
15. The only food that I really can't bring myself to swallow is olives...raw.
16. I wish people would comment on my blog more. They tell me they read, but they don't comment. I don't know why I care!
17. I LOVE to read. I just finished Twilight (I know...a little behind the bandwagon.)
18. When my sister lived in London, I got to go to Europe 4 times in 3 years. I am really disappointed that I will not be going this year.
19. One of those times I went for free because I chaperoned a trip to Italy! That's when I was out of the state for 8 days!
20. 8 of the past 10 years I have spent in 2 4-year relationships I thought were serious.
21. The past two years have left me fiercely independent and I worry that I am not going to be able to give that up. I joke that my husband will have to live in a house next door to me.
22. I love to iron clothes. It's instant gratification and I do it every single morning before I get dressed.
23. I even iron pillow cases and t-shirts.
24. However, my house is always a wreck. I hate a mess, but you'd never know it to walk into my house.
25. The only perfume I wear is Blue by Ralph Lauren and I am complimented on it all the time.
26. People think I am extremely small. I'm not. It's just that I am extremely short.
27. Almost any bad mood I am in is erased by my students at school.
28. They know me well enough to just leave a piece of gum on my desk. They know I am going to ask anyway! I love to chew gum.
29. If I could take a trip to anywhere in the world, it would be to Asia or Africa.
30. I am the oldest of 4 siblings and growing up I always said I wanted to have at least 4 children.
31. My favorite color is blue....like cadet blue, or a grey-blue color.
32. My favorite winter time activities are snow skiing and drinking hot chocolate.
33. Sometimes in the winter I get so cold that the only way I can warm back up is to get in the shower. So in January and February, I end up taking two or three a day!
34. I am trusting to a fault. Hence the reason my iPhone was stolen from school. It never occurs to me that someone might want to do something to me.
35. I love to go to bed early and get up early.
36. I hate to stay out late at night. I end up doing it sometimes and always regret it.
37. I love to drink beer during the day.
38. I just gave blood for the first time this school year. I really loved it.
39. I hate rivalry football games.
40. I also am not a very big New Years Eve fan. Too much pressure to make sure it's perfect and it doesn't usually live up to my expectations.
41. I could sit in front of a fire all day long. My mom makes one when the temperature drops below 55!
42. I've been known to drive to their house on a whim because she told me she has one going in the fireplace.
43. I have a southern accent, but in the past when people have tried to guess where I am from, they guess West Virginia or Ohio.
44. I think that once I get my PhD, I will probably move out of the classroom.
45. I'd like to be in a position to make decisions instead of in one to follow someone elses decisions.
46. By the time my mother was my age, she had 2 children. Most of my friends with kids already have two, some have a second on the way, some have a third on the way. I worry I am running out of time.
47. A teacher at my school the other day warned me not to end up like her...almost 40 and single. That made me nervous.
48. I love to give people gifts. Especially when I pick one out that I know someone is going to love. It really is so much more fun to give than to receive.
49. I wish that I could adopt some of my students who are from struggling families.
50. There are several students that I regularly give lunch money to. I have it (sometimes!) and they need it. I usually get paid back. But I don't always accept the repayment.
51. I absolutely love Taco Bell. So much. There is one near my school and if my kids go for lunch, they bring me back a taco.
52. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.
53. My favorite time of year is Christmas because everyone is generally so happy.
54. I love to wear a scarf. I almost always have on a scarf.
55. I am almost always in a good mood, and if I am not, it is extremely obvious. I am very transparent. I do not hide my feelings well, especially my feelings of disappointment.
56. I love to laugh and I laugh loud and often. Hence the fight with the lady at the bar.
57. Until just recently, I have had a hard time opening up about my feelings. Maybe that's why I spend 8 of the last 10 years in relationships that didn't work out.
58. I know exactly what I want out of my life and do not see the need to settle for anything less.
59. I am not proud of all of the things I've done in my life. I wish I was.
60. Other things I look back on with absolutely no regret. And I look forward to what's to come.
61. I love to spend time with my friends. I especially love to spend time with friends when I haven't seen them in a few weeks.
62. I am addicted to The Hills.
63. The greatest concert I've ever been to was Paul Simon and Bob Dylan. I sat 11th row.
64. I am Paul Simon's number one fan.
65. Something that makes a lot of my friends mad is that I went to Clemson but I pull for USC when they play each other. This is why I hate rivalry football games. My dad says I win no matter what, but really I lose no matter what.
66. In keeping with the traitor theme, I teach at high school that is the rival to the one I went to! My students groan when I tell them which high school I went to.
67. Being a graduate student only reminds me of all the things I don't know!
68. I wish I was 5'8" and still weighed the same!
69. I dream of living in Italy.
70. My dream job would be a concert pianist.
71. I grew up wanting to be a doctor, but my first biology class in college changed my mind.
72. I am incredibly proud of each member of my family.
73. I have a million names picked out if I were to ever have a girl, but I don't really have any boy names. And I hope I have all boys!
74. My favorite place to go is anywhere on the coast. I am pretty partial to Edisto.
75. I don't understand why people on soap operas don't have to work.
76. I love Days of Our Lives. I scheduled classes around it in college.
77. I drive way too fast. But I haven't had a ticket in years. Now that I typed this I will probably get a ticket.
78. I am extremely picky when it comes to finding someone that I like. I am usually very surprised when I do find someone I like.
79. I hate dating people. I'd rather meet someone, set a date, and show back up to marry them. Not really. But that sure would be easier.
80. My biggest fear is meeting the family. I hate to meet someones parents. I don't know why!
81. I love to drink Smart Water. I was turned on to it a while back and have become hooked. And I am not typically a bottled water drinker.
82. I love the beach.
83. I don't think I could narrow down a favorite movie, but I love Big Fish, American Beauty, The Royal Tennenbaums.
84. If I won the lottery, I would quit my job and travel the world. I'd take my friends with me.
85. I hate to fly. I love to watch planes take off, though.
86. I love to take pictures and I carry my camera with me almost everywhere I go. Sometimes I even take it to school.
87. I am inspired by people who are hard working and motivated. They make me want to be a better person.
88. I hope that my path in life impacts lots of people in very positive ways.
89. I wish I could see into the future. But only when I wanted to.
90. I really love to cook, and I wish I had a kitchen that would allow me to try more things.
91. I wish I had taken some risks like my sister did. I wish I had studied abroad when I was in college but I was too afraid of being homesick.
92. Even though I was only 2 1/2 hours away from home when I was in college, I was extremely homesick the first year and thought many times about transferring home.
93. I am so glad I stuck it out.
94. There are only 12 days left until Christmas. I have not started shopping yet.
95. That should come as no surprise as I am the world's biggest procrastinator. One of the things I am not proud of.
96. But I always get my work done. Something I am proud of.
97. I've been stopped at school for going through the faculty lunch line. I had to show my ID to prove I am a faculty member!
98. I hate when people correct someone when they are speaking. I try so hard not to do that.
99. I get obsessed with the Olympics. I don't understand how some people don't seem to care too much about it.
100. I broke my leg when I was in high school. I was with my best friend and we were riding around with a boy driving us but we weren't supposed to be in the car with boys. I fell out of the car. We told her mom and my parents that I fell down her front stair case. Her mother still thinks this is how I broke my leg!
That was harder than I thought it would be!

I love to iron and I iron my t-shirts too! It really calms me down for some reason.
I can't believe you came up with 100 things! Happy 100th blog...we knew you could do it!! (Is that the appropriate sentiment for one who has written 100 blogs? I'm not sure, but Gooooooo Emily!).
101. Emily is a completely fun, dedicated, nice, thoughtful and caring friend (as she said, sometimes to a fault). She is going to be an excellent catch as a wife and the most terrific mom there ever was (she already loves her students as if they were her own.) I love her and I'm proud to call her my friend.
102. Emily's friend Laura is not very sentimental or "touchy feely" so let's not make a big deal of #101.
Congratulations! I think you are the best!
PS Will you come over and iron my clothes for me?!
I also love for people to comment on my blog, but not enough comment on mine, either!
Love your 100 things! I would have to think for HOURS to come up with 100 things about myself!
I love your 100 things!!! You can iron my clothes any time you'd like--I hate to iron!
I agree with Laura--you are the perfect catch, and I know you'll make some man very happy one day! :)
I miss your loud laugh, too!
I love that you can love both Carolina and Clemson. It shows your personality, that you always see the best in everyone!!! Congrats on your 100 post!! Love you and I am so glad that I got to live with you and you became my friend, not just "one of Jeff's friends".
I agree with you are the perfect catch, someone is gonna love you to death. I also love CVS and think you are the bomb!
Also, thanks for putting Seminole Family in your list, I love reading all your links to others and I am hoping to have more excitement coming to my blogs! Well other thand the dogs!
