What the???
That's exactly what I thought, too, when one of my students asked me if I knew that song. (Maybe you can see where this is going...)
My kids are working on a big poetry project. They are collecting, among other things, lyrics to five songs and then they have to pick out different poetic devices in the words.
This morning, my first period was in the computer lab looking up lyrics. One student was searching for the lyrics to a song. She must have typed in "Catch The Cat Box" into every search engine online. Finally she says "Do you know this song?" I had a feeling I knew where this was going.
She proceeds to tell me that she and her mother regulalry sing this song at home. Apparently it is also on a commercial and they sing it when it comes on the TV. And they can not find the song anywhere.
I asked her to sing it for me and she launches in to a stirring rendition of "Catch The Cat Box"......to the tune of, you guessed it "Rock The Casbah"!!!
I almost died I was laughing so hard.
In other student news, a girl I taught as a freshman and then as a sophomore just came to me in tears. Poor thing is wearing two different shoes!
I really do love my job.

Hahaha...don't you love the drama? Worst part is, I swear parts of my life are just like high school!
wow... I really thought Catch the cat box was going to be some dirty lyric from a rap song.
Gotta love teaching... there are always stories to tell! Have a good week!
I love hearing about what goes on in your classes!
