A Potential Name Change??

For my blog, that is! Well, that might be jumping the gun a little. But....I have met someone that has been making me extremely happy recently. It's a little complicated, though.

As you know, I chose the name for my blog because of that song "One" and the lyrics that say that one is the loneliest number, blah, blah, blah. Well, I picked OINSL because I am not a lonely person. I have lots of very close friends that are very good to me. But, I have been single for years. One thing that only a few people know is that I recently tried my hand, or my fingers (for typing), at internet dating. I'd been on eHarmony for a few months and had three dates out of it as well as some emailing conversations. But it wasn't really going anywhere and I'd begun to completely lose interest in it. I'd forget to log on and check it.

And, then I finally realized it. I had absolutely decided that I would find the right person for me at the right time in my life. And that putting myself out there wasn't going to speed up the process or slow it down. It would have no effect at all. I guess it's all about timing. And I've known this all along. But I finally actually believed it and didn't worry about it anymore. I didn't give up, but I quit trying to control it.

So, June 5th rolls around. It's the last day of school and we were required to go to graduation. One of my History friends from school decided that it would be great to get a group of teachers together for what we like to refer to as TNOs. Or Teacher Nights Out. Since we were all required to be at graduation, and graduation is downtown each year, I sent out an email to a bunch of people and encouraged them to spread the word. We were going to meet at a restaurant/bar downtown afterwards. And we had quite a turn out. Even our principal showed up and hung out with us until after midnight. We had a closing of the year faculty meeting the next morning and there were many of us looking like we'd just rolled out of bed. Including some in their clothes from the night before. For example - the guy.

I've known him for several years. He's been a teacher at my school for a while. And we hit it off at the celebration after graduation.

(Confession - Yes, I put that together. Yes, it was very intentional that I made sure he got an email about the celebration.)

And it's been great ever since. But, the complicated part. He is the director of the academic magnet programs at my school. And, well, I teach in one of the magnets. He is supposed to be observing me and doing my evaluations next school year. That wouldn't be very cool. But I think we've figured out what to do about that. He's going to be up front with the principal. They are very close. I will fill you in on that bit once it happens. So all of this means that we have to be very secretive about all this. One of the reasons for me going private. Because I want to be able to write about the things that go on, but I can't take the chance that people from my school find out. And this way, I know exactly who is reading this. So, don't you all go telling on me, okay!!??

So things have been really great with us. He met my entire family minus my brother, who is in Italy right now. And they adored him. And, last night I went with him to meet his entire family, including his two children. He has a five year old and an eight year old. Feel free to rightly assume that he is several years older than I am. And I really enjoyed it. His family was very nice and welcoming. So, I guess we'll see where all this goes. It's really great so far!!

Ahh, to be private. I love it.
