I got to spend this past weekend with my family once again as we celebrated another wedding! And I didn't have my camera! I actually can't find it! I know, I know! I am disappointed too.
The wedding was in Mt. Pleasant on the creek. It was beautiful. They were married in the front yard under a huge white tent. It was so nice. Then the reception was held in the backyard looking over the creek. It was a perfect setting. The reception was stunning. I kept telling my mother that the only difference between that reception and mine is that I will be the one wearing the white dress! That is, IF I can find someone who wants to marry me! Wait, wait! Let me repharse that with WHEN!
There was a sushi table set up by the river and a gelato table set up under a huge oak tree. The band was set up at one end of the yard with a big dance floor that was brought in. It was so pretty.
And I really love the dress I wore!
The picture is from www.barijay.com .
It looks a lot better on that model than it did on me!
My mother sewed on the included straps for me, and I really liked it with them added.
We had a wonderful time. My mom and I drove to Edisto after the wedding and stayed down there. And the fun didn't stop then!
Edisto................
My dad and Richard were down there. We woke up and my mom left to pick up my brother from the airport. He was coming in from NYC. So I stayed down and hung out with Dad and Richard. We put the boat in the water and took it to the landing so they could take it out and change the oil in it. Needless to say, it wasn't that simple!
They didn't have the tools they needed so Richard and I sat at the public landing while dad went all over the island trying to find an open hardware store. But Edisto stills observes the Blue Laws so no one works on Sundays. Meanwhile, Richard and I were extremely entertained by the people that came and went at the public landing. It was hilarious. He kept saying that if you really want to do some good people watching, spend some time at a public boat landing. We got many a laugh. So after some back and forth bantering about whose fault it really was, we pulled the boat back home and, lo and behold, the tools they needed were on the boat after all.
So they get the oil changed and we pile back into the truck to put the boat back in the water and I was to ride on it with Richard back to the dock. Well, Richard starts laughing, which leads my dad to believe that something is wrong. Richard points out that he is laughing about the wires flapping in the breeze...the wires that are supposed to be attachted to the antena! It appears as if the last people to use the boat (ahem...BEN!) left the radio attena up and my dad drove it under a tree and snapped it off! Of course, I got the blame for a while until I finally made him realize that it wasn't MY FRIENDS!
Well, he got over it...at least I think he did. Anyway, we put the boat in at the bridge and set out to drive it back to the dock. Let me just say that there is nothing smooth about rough water. And it was so rough in the river. So rough! I was completley Big Gamed by a rogue wave! Big Game, for those of you who don't know, means DRENCHED as in like a winning coach by a cooler of Lemon-Lime Gatorade. Except in my case, I felt like a greenhorn on the USS Scout. Luckily for me, Captain Richard was at the wheel and he adverted a serious crisis and I made it home safely. It was a great weekend and I wish I was still at Edisto! Oh well, soon enough...
