Happy Birthday, Dad!
Today is his 60th birthday! So, to celebrate, we threw a great birthday party last night. For his 50th, he blew his eyebrows off with a potato gun, which was pretty funny, only after we realized he wasn't hurt at all. He couldn't get the potato gun to fire, so he stuck his face in it to see what was wrong and he pulled the trigger! It fired that time! Bye bye, eyebrows! And I think that was the last time we used the potato gun....Hmmm....
This birthday was a little less dangerous due to the absence of homemade firearms, but it was certainly no less fun! Thanks to Catie (and a little bit from me!) we had a delicious aray of food....fried oysters like you've never eaten before, muscles, stuffed mushrooms (my contribution, thankyouverymuch!), and wine, wine, wine. So much wine.
My dad kept saying that 60 is the new 40. Well, this makes me a little nervous because that means that 30 is the new 10.....so does that mean I'm turning 10 in July?
The Lovebirds. I can't explain everything...for some reason they wanted to put their heads together. Note the ever-present blue towel, the most versatile piece of material in the world. Much, much more than just a surgical towel, the blue towel has been known to be used as a hat, a bathmat, a dish rag, and when times are tough, even a shirt. Blue towels have also been used in place of crumbs in the woods to mark a trail and enable the dropper to find his or her way back. Ben claims to have once worn the blue towel as a do-rag for the entire duration of a Rusted Root concert. I know. It's no joke.
If I ever do a give-away on this blog, the prize would be a blue towel.
Charles and my mother. Another thing I can't explain...is that a parsley bouquet?
Blake - my dad's oldest friend. Oldest as in longest friendship, not as in age! Blake and my dad have been friends since they were in the 2nd grade.
Miraculously, Ben and I took a decent picture. He's usually trying to pull some stunt like this:
We had a blast! Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you! Looking forward to many, many more.
